How we make money
Plain answer, kept current
The short version
Installers pay us a set fee when a job we introduced completes. You pay ClimaHome nothing for the Check, the assessment, or the introduction.
Why installers are willing to pay
By the time an installer meets you, the Check has already done the first site visit: your rooms, your photos if you added them, what your home qualifies for, and a realistic price band you have already seen. That saves the installer a wasted evening quoting cold, and they pay us for that saved time out of the job.
What that means for your price
The fee is set per job type and agreed with the installer in advance. It is part of the installer's costs, like their van or their insurance, and it is kept deliberately small next to the value of the job. We cap our take so it stays a fraction of what a wasted sales visit would cost them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your details to lists of companies. One job, one installer.
- We do not mark up equipment. We do not sell equipment at all.
- We do not take a percentage of your quote, so there is no incentive for us to want your price higher.
- We do not charge you for a portable recommendation. Where we link to a retailer we may earn a small affiliate commission, and we only link to units we would buy ourselves.
The honest tension
We only earn when jobs complete, so we want installs to happen. The reason to trust us anyway: the Check tells renters and many flat owners NOT to install, because a service that pushed everyone toward a sale would stop being believed, and being believed is the entire business.
